Sam and Cody treated me to such a fun engagement session in downtown Salem, as we shot on Chestnut Street, by Hamilton Hall and on Front Street. This beautiful and historic area was such a nice backdrop to the candid photos these two gave me! Sam and Cody met in college at George Washington University. They live in New York City now, so we planned their engagement session on one of their trips to Sam’s hometown, Peabody.
I’ve known Sam and Cody for a few years now. My boyfriend, Josh, is “cousins” with Sam. “Cousins” because they aren’t blood related but their families have grown up together for 3 generations. I was so excited when Sam asked me to shoot her wedding this fall at Searles Castle. We have so much in common – from the clothes we wear, how we interact with our significant other, and our equal obsession with dogs. Likewise, Josh and Cody are so similar. Both are sports-loving, beer-drinking guys’ guys. Josh and I can’t wait to be a part of this special wedding in September.
Sam and Cody made it so easy for me to work. We began in front of Hamilton Hall, and Sam immediately started giggling when I asked Cody for a “soft smile.” If you scroll down far enough, you’ll see they totally mastered the soft smile look! We wandered around Chestnut Street, and ended the evening along Front Street at Derby Square underneath hundreds of twinkling nights. Thanks again guys!
